How to Travel from the United States to Morocco: Flights and Requirements

The United States is, along with Brazil, one of the few markets in the Americas with direct flights to Morocco. If you live there, you can reach Casablanca without stops in about seven or eight hours from the East Coast. But note: what counts for entry is the nationality of your passport, not your place of residence.

Entry requirements: it depends on the passport

US passport: no visa for tourism of up to 90 days. A minimum validity of six months and blank pages are recommended.
Other nationalities (Mexican, Colombian, Dominican, etc.): the rules of your country of origin apply, not those of the US. See our guides by country or ask the Moroccan consulate.
Permanent residents (green card): holding residency does not replace a visa if your nationality requires one; in some cases a conditional electronic visa can be requested. See Morocco's official visa portal.

For any nationality, carry a ticket out, the address of your accommodation and, although not mandatory, travel insurance with international medical coverage.

From Casablanca airport (CMN) you can connect to Marrakech, Fes, Tangier or Agadir on flights of about 45-60 minutes, or leave by car with a private transfer. Time difference and best season

Morocco is five to six hours ahead of the US East Coast (one less during Ramadan), and eight to nine hours ahead of the West Coast. The best dates for the weather are from March to May and from September to November. Travelers often take advantage of spring break, Thanksgiving and Christmas: book early.
