How to Travel from Brazil to Morocco: Flights, Prices and Tips
Brazil is the Latin American country best connected with Morocco: a direct flight, no visa and only a couple of time zones away.
Brazil has an advantage that almost no other country in the region shares: a direct flight to Morocco. Royal Air Maroc connects São Paulo with Casablanca, so you can be in North Africa in under ten hours with no stops.
Entry requirements for Brazilians
Brazilian citizens with an ordinary passport do not need a visa for tourism of up to 90 days. Even so, carry with you:
- A valid passport (at least six months of validity recommended and blank pages).
- A ticket out or onward travel.
- The address of your accommodation for the entry card.
- Travel insurance with medical coverage.
Since Brazil has areas at risk of yellow fever, confirm with the Moroccan consulate whether, on the date of your trip, a health certificate is requested, and bring your vaccination record up to date.
Flights from Brazil to Morocco
| Route | Details | Approximate total time |
|---|---|---|
| São Paulo → Casablanca (direct) | Royal Air Maroc, depending on weekly frequencies; then a short connection to Marrakech, Fes, Tangier or Agadir | ≈ 9 to 11 h + connection |
| Rio, Brasília or Salvador → São Paulo → Casablanca | Domestic connection to São Paulo and the direct hop | 13 to 18 h |
| Brazil → Lisbon or Madrid → Morocco | European alternative with one stop, sometimes cheaper | 14 to 19 h |
From São Paulo to Casablanca it is about 7,500 km in a straight line. The connection via Lisbon or Madrid can be a good alternative if the direct flight does not match your dates. Routes, airlines and frequencies change every season. Treat this as a planning guide and confirm schedules and prices in your flight search engine before buying.
Time difference and climate
Morocco is four hours ahead of Brasília (three during Ramadan). As for the climate, remember that the seasons are opposite: January and February are mild in the desert; July is very hot in Marrakech and Merzouga. For Carnival, which falls in the middle of the Moroccan winter, bring a coat for the nights.
How much the trip costs from Brazil
As a guide, a round-trip ticket can be between 900 and 1,500 USD depending on the season. The daily cost at the destination is moderate: a mid-range riad is around 50-120 USD per night. With the direct flight, a trip of 8 to 10 days is very worthwhile.
