How to Travel from Argentina to Morocco: Flights and Requirements
No visa, flights from Ezeiza and seasons opposite to ours: what you need to know to organize your trip from Argentina.
From Argentina, Morocco is a destination that fits very well with summer and winter vacations: the seasons there are the opposite of ours, which lets you choose between a cool desert in January or a perfect spring in October.
Entry requirements for Argentines
Argentines with an ordinary passport do not need a visa for tourist stays of up to 90 days in Morocco. At the time of travel you should have:
- A valid passport (ideally with six months of validity on entry and blank pages for the stamps).
- A ticket out or onward travel.
- The address of your accommodation for the first nights.
- Sufficient funds and, although not mandatory, travel insurance with medical assistance.
If you have a layover in Spain or another EU country, Argentines travel to Schengen without a visa. The EU is preparing the ETIAS system (start expected at the end of 2026); check its official website to see whether it is already required on your route before buying the ticket.
Getting there from Argentina
There are no direct flights between Buenos Aires and Morocco. The usual route combines a transatlantic flight with a short connection:
| Route | Details | Approximate total time |
|---|---|---|
| Buenos Aires → Madrid → Morocco | Aerolíneas Argentinas, Iberia or Air Europa to Madrid; then Madrid to Marrakech or Casablanca | 17 to 22 h |
| Buenos Aires → São Paulo → Casablanca | Connection in Brazil and a direct Royal Air Maroc flight, if there are flights on your date | 18 to 24 h |
| Buenos Aires → Paris or Amsterdam → Morocco | European airlines with a second connection | 19 to 24 h |
The Buenos Aires–Madrid leg takes about 12-13 hours and Madrid–Marrakech about two and a half hours. In a straight line, Ezeiza is about 9,300 km from Casablanca. Routes, airlines and frequencies change every season. Treat this as a planning guide and confirm schedules and prices in your flight search engine before buying.
When to travel: the seasons reversed
Morocco is in the northern hemisphere, so your summer is its winter and vice versa:
- January and February (summer vacation): cool, sunny days in the cities, ideal for the desert during the day, with very cold nights in the Sahara and snow in the High Atlas.
- July (winter vacation): it is the height of the Moroccan summer. Marrakech and the desert easily exceed 40 °C; it works better for the coast and the Rif.
- September to November and March to May: the best times overall, with moderate temperatures.
Estimated budget from Argentina
As a guide, the round-trip ticket ranges between 1,000 and 1,700 USD depending on the season, with peaks in January and July. At the destination, daily costs are moderate: a good riad is around 50-120 USD per night in a double room. The ticket weighs the most, so it is worth making the most of the trip with at least 8 or 10 days.
How to handle money
The Moroccan currency is the dirham (MAD) and in most countries it cannot be bought at a good rate before the trip. The most practical option is to carry dollars or euros in cash to exchange on arrival and use your card at ATMs and hotels. Before leaving, check with your bank about the limits and costs of purchases and withdrawals abroad. More details in our guide on the Moroccan currency.
