Arrival in Fes – welcome to Morocco

As soon as you land at Fez Airport, your driver will be waiting in the arrivals hall to welcome you. He will take you straight to your hotel or riad in the heart of the city.

Note: if your flight arrives in the morning and you have time available, we can arrange an official local guide for a first taste of the fascinating Fez medina before continuing towards the desert the next day. Ask us for more information.

Depending on your arrival time you can take a first walk around the area or simply rest after the journey. In the evening, dinner at your leisure and overnight in Fez.

Fes – Ifrane – Cedar Forest – Ziz Valley – Erfoud – Merzouga

After breakfast we head south, crossing the Middle Atlas Mountains. Our first stop is Ifrane, known as “the Moroccan Switzerland” for its European architecture and spotless streets. We then continue to the Azrou cedar forest, where we can see and feed Barbary macaques in their natural habitat.

We continue on through the impressive Ziz Valley, famous for its palm groves and panoramic views. We stop in Erfoud, known for its fossils and black marble. In the afternoon we reach Merzouga, the gateway to the desert. Dinner and overnight at a hotel near the dunes.

Exploring the Merzouga desert and nomad life

Breakfast and a full day given over to discovering the extraordinary Sahara. We start with a 4×4 route through the Erg Chebbi dunes, taking in different landscapes and the villages around them. We meet Berber nomad families, who invite us for tea and explain their traditional way of life.

We continue to Khamlia, a small village known for its Gnawa music, where we enjoy a unique performance. We also visit a hidden oasis and a fossil mine. In the afternoon we enjoy the sunset over the dunes before returning to the hotel. Dinner and overnight in Merzouga.

Merzouga – Rissani – Todra Gorge – Dades Valley

After breakfast we set off for Rissani, former capital of the Alaouites and famous for its lively traditional souk (on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays). You can stroll among stalls of spices, fruit and crafts.

We continue to the impressive Todra Gorge, where the canyon narrows into vertical rock walls more than 300 metres high. It is the perfect place for a walk and photographs. We then cross the Dades Valley, known for the rock formations called “Monkey Fingers”. Arrival at the hotel, dinner and overnight.

Dades Valley – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – High Atlas – Marrakech

Breakfast and departure for Ouarzazate, known as “the gateway to the desert”. On the way we travel the Route of a Thousand Kasbahs, with its striking landscapes and earthen buildings. We visit the famous Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and setting for films such as Gladiator and Game of Thrones.

We then make a short stop in Ouarzazate to see the film studios and the Taourirt Kasbah. We cross the High Atlas over the Tizi n'Tichka pass (2,260 metres), enjoying spectacular mountain views. Arrival in Marrakech in the afternoon, transfer to the hotel and overnight.

Immersion in Marrakech with a Local Guide

Desayuno y encuentro con tu guía local oficial para descubrir los secretos de la ciudad roja. Comenzaremos visitando el Palacio de la Bahía, una joya de la arquitectura marroquí con sus jardines y patios decorados. Continuaremos hacia las Tumbas Saadíes, descubiertas en 1917 y que albergan los restos de más de 60 miembros de la dinastía saadí.

Seguiremos paseando por la Medina y sus laberínticas callejuelas hasta llegar a la famosa Plaza Jemaa el-Fna, vibrante durante todo el día con sus encantadores de serpientes, aguadores y cuentacuentos. Por la tarde, exploraremos los souks (mercados) organizados por gremios: especias, alfombras, artesanía en cuero, metal y madera. El recorrido terminará en una terraza con vistas a la Mezquita Koutoubia. Regreso al hotel y noche libre en Marrakech.

Transfer to Marrakech Airport – end of the trip

Breakfast at the hotel. Depending on your flight time you have free time for last purchases or to relax before saying goodbye. At the agreed hour your driver collects you for the transfer to Marrakech Airport. End of our services and of this unforgettable Moroccan adventure.
