8 Days in Morocco: tour from Tangier

Tangier – Chefchaouen (the Blue Pearl)

We collect you at the port, the airport or your hotel in Tangier. Our Morocco tour begins with a scenic drive south towards the Rif Mountains. Our destination is the fascinating blue city of Chefchaouen. After checking in at your riad, you have free time to lose yourself in its peaceful blue-toned streets, buy local crafts and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere. Dinner and overnight in Chefchaouen.

Chefchaouen – Volubilis – Meknes – Fez

After breakfast we head for the imperial city of Fez. On the way we stop at the Roman ruins of Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where you can walk among well-preserved mosaics and arches. A short drive then takes us to the imperial city of Meknes, known for its great Bab Mansour gate and the vast royal stables. After a tour of Meknes we continue to Fez. Dinner and overnight at your riad/hotel.

Exploring Fez with a Local Guide

Today is devoted to discovering the cultural and spiritual heart of Morocco. With an official local guide you explore the ancient medina of Fez el-Bali, another UNESCO site. Highlights include the famous University of Al-Qarawiyyin, the tanneries, the gate of the Royal Palace and the Mellah (Jewish quarter). Enjoy a traditional lunch in the heart of the medina. The afternoon is free to carry on exploring. Dinner and overnight in Fez.

Fez – Ifrane – Azrou – Ziz Valley – Merzouga Desert

After breakfast we leave Fez and travel towards the Sahara Desert. We drive through Ifrane, known as “the Switzerland of Morocco” for its alpine-style architecture, and the cedar forests of Azrou, where you can see Barbary macaques.

The landscape changes dramatically as we cross the Middle Atlas Mountains and descend into the impressive Ziz Valley, dotted with palm oases. We reach the edge of the Erg Chebbi dunes at Merzouga in the afternoon.

After a warm welcome with mint tea, you mount your camels for a magical trek across the dunes to watch the sunset. You spend the night in a luxury desert camp under a blanket of stars, with traditional Berber music and a delicious dinner.

Exploring the Merzouga Desert

Levántese temprano para presenciar un amanecer espectacular sobre las dunas de arena. Después del desayuno en el campamento, regresará al hotel al borde de las dunas para asearse. Hoy explorará la zona desértica alrededor de Merzouga: visitará una familia nómada, verá el oasis de Merzouga y quizás visite la aldea de Khamlia para disfrutar de música Gnawa.

Tiene la opción de hacer un tour en 4×4 o relajarse junto a la piscina del hotel. Por la tarde, puede elegir tener una segunda noche en el campamento del desierto o alojarse en el hotel. Cena y alojamiento en Merzouga.

Merzouga – Todra Gorge – Dades Valley – Ouarzazate

After a last sunrise in the desert we begin our Morocco tour towards Ouarzazate. We drive through the Todra Gorge, a massive canyon popular with climbers, where you can walk beside the river at its base.

Next we travel through the impressive Dades Valley, known for its unique rock formations (“monkey fingers”). We continue to Ouarzazate, known as the “Gateway to the Desert” and famous for its film studios. Dinner and overnight in Ouarzazate.

Ouarzazate – Ait Benhaddou – Alto Atlas – Marrakech

After breakfast we visit the Taourirt Kasbah in Ouarzazate. A short drive then takes us to the famous Ksar of Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and setting for many Hollywood films (Gladiator, Game of Thrones).

After exploring the kasbah we cross the spectacular Tizi n'Tichka pass over the High Atlas Mountains. The views are breathtaking, with constantly changing landscapes. We arrive in Marrakech in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight in Marrakech.

Marrakech – Casablanca – Departure

En el último día de su Tour Marruecos, le llevaremos desde Marrakech a Casablanca. Dependiendo del horario de su vuelo, podemos organizar una visita a la magnífica Mezquita Hassan II, una de las mezquitas más grandes del mundo. Posteriormente, le trasladaremos al Aeropuerto Mohammed V de Casablanca para su salida, poniendo fin a su aventura marroquí de 8 días.
