Arrival in Tangier – the gateway to Africa

Welcome to Morocco. Your adventure begins in Tangier, the legendary city joining two seas and two continents. After you arrive at the port or airport you are transferred to your hotel. Depending on your arrival time, the afternoon is free to lose yourself in the medina, feel the energy of Petit Socco square and enjoy views of the strait from Café Hafa.

Tangier → Chefchaouen – the blue charm

After breakfast we say goodbye to Tangier and head inland towards the Rif Mountains. Our destination is dazzling Chefchaouen, the “Blue City”. On arrival you are immersed in a world of blue tones and winding alleys. The afternoon is yours to explore, photograph every corner and absorb the unique, calm atmosphere of this Moroccan gem. Chefchaouen → Volubilis → Meknes → Fes

Enjoy a final morning in Chefchaouen, perhaps climbing up to the Spanish mosque for a panoramic view. In the afternoon we travel south to discover the impressive Roman ruins of Volubilis, a journey back in time among mosaics and ancient columns. We continue to the imperial city of Meknes, where we admire the grand Bab Mansour gate and stop in front of the imposing medina walls. Arrival in Fez at dusk.

Fes – The Cultural Heart

A day devoted to exploring Fez, Morocco’s cultural and spiritual capital. With an expert local guide you enter Fez el-Bali, the largest medieval medina in the world. You discover the University of Al-Qarawiyyin (the oldest in the world), the colourful Chouara leather tanneries and the magnificent Bou Inania madrasa. The afternoon is ideal for losing yourself in souks full of life and craftsmanship.

Fez → Ifrane → Midelt → Erfoud → Merzouga (Sahara)

Today the scenery changes completely. We leave the city behind and head into the Middle Atlas Mountains. We pass through Ifrane, known as “the Switzerland of Morocco” for its alpine architecture, and the cedar forests of Azrou, where you can see Barbary macaques. The landscape turns arid as we approach the Sahara, passing Erfoud, famous for its fossils. Arrival in Merzouga, where you ride a camel into the Erg Chebbi dunes for an unforgettable sunset. Night in a Berber camp under a blanket of stars.

Life in the Desert

The morning greets you in the Todra Gorge, where 300-metre cliffs frame a winding river, perfect for a refreshing walk. As you leave the rocky canyons, the landscape gradually shifts into the golden tones of the Sahara. In the afternoon you reach Merzouga, where a camel caravan awaits. You ride these gentle animals as the sun goes down, crossing the Erg Chebbi dunes as they glow like molten copper. At the camp, Berber hosts welcome you with mint tea before serving dinner under the stars, accompanied by drum rhythms around the fire

Merzouga → Todra Gorges → Dades Valley

Wake up for a magical sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast at the camp we set off for the impressive Todra Gorge, a giant canyon perfect for a walk. We continue along the “Route of a Thousand Kasbahs” to the spectacular Dades Valley, famous for its rock formations and palm groves. Night in a hotel overlooking the valley.

Dades Valley → Valley of Roses → Ouarzazate → Ait Ben Haddou → Marrakech

After breakfast we travel through the Valley of Roses (especially fragrant in May) and reach Ouarzazate, the “Hollywood of Africa”. We visit the Taourirt kasbah and the famous Ksar of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and setting for films such as Gladiator. After lunch we take on the thrilling crossing of the Atlas Mountains over the Tizi n’Tichka pass, with constantly changing landscapes. Arrival in vibrant Marrakech in the afternoon.

Marrakech – the red city

A full day to discover the charms of Marrakech. In the morning a guided visit takes you to the most emblematic sites: the Menara gardens, the Koutoubia mosque, the Saadian tombs and the Bahia palace. In the afternoon you plunge into the labyrinthine souk of the medina and into the frantic, fascinating Jemaa el-Fna square, which by night becomes the greatest open-air show on earth.

Marrakech → Casablanca → Tangier

We begin the journey back north. We stop in Casablanca to see the exterior of Morocco’s magnificent modern landmark: the Hassan II Mosque, set above the ocean. We continue on until we reach Tangier again, where you have a last night to enjoy the city and a farewell dinner.
