5-Day Tour from Marrakech to Tangier: Desert, Fes and Chefchaouen

Marrakech → Tizi n’Tichka → Aït Ben Haddou → Dades Valley

Morning departure into the High Atlas and over the Tizi n’Tichka pass (2,260 m), with stops in Berber villages. Visit the kasbah of Aït Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and continue via Ouarzazate and the Valley of Roses to the Dades Valley.

Dades Valley → Todra Gorge → Merzouga

Walk between the rock walls of the Todra Gorge, up to 300 metres high, and drive via Tinghir and the palm groves of Erfoud. At sunset, a camel ride across the dunes of Erg Chebbi and a night at a desert camp, with dinner and music around the fire.

Merzouga → Ziz Valley → Midelt → Ifrane → Fes

Sunrise over the dunes and a camel ride back. Head north via Erfoud and the canyons and palm groves of the Ziz Valley, stopping in Midelt for lunch. Cross the Middle Atlas through the cedar forests of Azrou, home to Barbary macaques, and Ifrane, before reaching Fes in the late afternoon.

Fes → Chefchaouen

A morning with a local guide in the Fes el-Bali medina: the Bou Inania Madrasa, the Nejjarine fountain and the Chouara tanneries. After lunch, drive through the Pre-Rif hills to Chefchaouen to watch the sunset over its blue houses.

A free morning in Chefchaouen to walk up to the Ras el Maa spring and shop for local crafts. In the afternoon, return to Tangier through the Rif, ending at your hotel, the port or the airport.
