Itinerary
Day-by-day itinerary
Day1
Agadir → Taroudant → Ait Ben Haddou → Ouarzazate
The adventure starts early with pick-up at your accommodation in Agadir. We head inland through the Souss valley to Taroudant, known as the “little Marrakech” for its imposing mud walls and lively souks, where we stop for a stroll.
We continue east across the Anti-Atlas to the famous kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a fortified ksar listed as World Heritage and the setting for numerous films. After walking its alleys we go on to Ouarzazate, the “gateway to the desert”, where we spend the night.
Accommodation: Night in Ouarzazate — Bouchedor or similar
Day2
Ouarzazate → Dades Valley → Todra Gorge → Merzouga
After breakfast we set off for Skoura and its palm grove, crossing the Valley of Roses towards Boumalne Dades. The route takes us to Tinghir and the spectacular Todra Gorge, whose rock walls rise up to 300 metres — a perfect place for a walk.
We continue through Tinejdad and Erfoud, famous for its fossils, reaching Merzouga as evening falls. There the camels await to take you into the Erg Chebbi dunes to the Berber camp. Traditional dinner, music around the fire and an unforgettable night under a starry sky.
Accommodation: Night in Merzouga — Tawada Camp or similar
Day3
Merzouga → Anti-Atlas → Taliouine → Agadir
If you wish, you can rise early to watch the sunrise over the dunes before breakfast. We ride the camels back to the village and start the return to Agadir by a different, scenery-filled route.
We cross the Anti-Atlas via Taliouine, the saffron capital, where we stop for lunch with views over the valley. We continue through Taroudant and the Souss valley to reach Agadir in the late afternoon, bringing this circuit through southern Morocco to a close.
Please note: the hotels listed are mid-range. If you would like to upgrade to a luxury option, just get in touch. Rates may vary in high season and according to the accommodation you choose.
It is a circuit that starts and ends in Agadir. We collect you at your hotel or apartment and drop you at the same point on return.
One night in the tented camp at Erg Chebbi (Merzouga). The other night is in a hotel en route, in Ouarzazate.
Yes, it includes one camel per person for the ride into the camp at sunset. Anyone who prefers can arrive by 4×4 at no extra cost.
Spring (March–May) and autumn (September–November) offer the most pleasant temperatures. In summer the desert is very hot and in winter the nights are cold, but the tour runs all year round.
Yes. We recommend a small bag for the night at the camp; your large luggage travels in the private vehicle throughout the journey.
Of course. All our tours are private and adaptable: we can add nights, change hotels or extend the stay in the desert.

The best experience from start to finish!
We travelled as a family with Marruecos Tours from 28 July to 2 August and the experience was wonderful from start to finish. Communication with Mohammed was excellent and our guide Said was attentive, friendly and fun throughout. He took us to places only locals know. Thoroughly recommended.

The Perfect Family Trip to Morocco
We recently returned from an incredible 12-day tour from Casablanca with our two children, and booking with Agencia Marruecos Tours was the best decision we made. Our driver and guide, Hassan, didn't just drive us from place to place — he became part of our family's story. The overnight desert camp in Merzouga was pure magic for all of us.

An amazing experience
I finally fulfilled a lifelong ambition of mine to go to Morocco. It was without a doubt one of the most memorable experiences of my life! The nine days spent travelling were filled with such breathtaking scenery. My favourite part was spending the night in a tent in the Sahara Desert and riding camels around the desert.

Highly recommended
An excellent personalised experience, helped along by Idir’s passion for his country and its customs — and, despite his youth, his knowledge of every corner of Morocco.
